Meet Soňa

I graduated in Business Administration. I had very specific requirements when choosing university: I was already working full-time, so I was looking for a school that would give me everything I needed while making it possible for me to plan lectures according to my own schedule. It was very demanding, but I knew I was not alone; many people found themselves in a similar situation. We told ourselves that we could do it, and that worked as a big motivation for me.

Time for discussion

The style of teaching was a dramatically different experience for me. Each class had twenty people on average, so there was plenty of time for discussion.

Expressing opinion

Everyone had to participate and express their opinion during seminars. This really helped me in life as well as in my future career. I grew up in the days when saying your opinion out loud was not entirely common and welcome, so I wanted to change it and break myself of the habit.

Studying and working

I graduated in Business Administration. I had very specific requirements when choosing university: I was already working full-time, so I was looking for a school that would give me everything I needed while making it possible for me to plan lectures according to my own schedule.

Working abroad

When I finished my studies, I was open to working abroad, quite possibly because I met many foreign lecturers and students here at AAU. I ended up working abroad for eight years.

Great responsibility

I am back in the Czech Republic for now. I am a Project Leader for Central Europe at DuPont; at the moment, I am in charge of a big merger project with Dow Chemical.
