Meet Martin
I enjoyed studying at UNYP so much that I graduated from three different study programs. I met many people at the university and made many great friends and contacts. It was thanks to this that I landed my first job. Now, I work for an international public relations company and also teach at UNYP.
Becoming teacher at UNYP
It was not very easy for me to leave UNYP; I knew I was going to miss my classmates, my lecturers, the whole community. I am lucky enough, however, to quite often meet my friends from all the academic programs I attended – either at alumni reunions organized by school or at informal meetings organized by us. I was happy to accept UNYP’s offer to become a lecturer and pass on all the skills and knowledge I gained here.
Public university
I was initially very sceptical about higher education. I found the studies at my former university boring – it was all about reading a book and reciting information afterwards.
UNYP is different
UNYP changed my approach to studying completely. First, I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Communication & Mass Media, then I applied to a PR master’s program of weekend study. Later on I obtained an MBA in marketing.
Learning from others
My students are very intelligent and perceptive. One of the best things here is the 360° model of learning, where students learn from each other, students learn from lecturers and vice versa, and last but not least, lecturers learn from each other, which means I learn many new things myself.

First job
I got my first job thanks to UNYP: I told a friend I was looking for some kind of job, and he gave me his mother’s number – she is a head-hunter and helped me find the right position.

Useful skills
UNYP has taught me to always be ready, to solve problems through teamwork and to interpret the results to others. The presentation and communication skills I acquired at UNYP are something I still benefit from today.
